TEACHING ENGLISH AND VILLAGER EMPOWERMENT
We all can always do a lot of things for others. Teacher too can do more than teaching in the classroom. Helping other people is among many the teachers can do and are doing at this moment. With this idea in mind, I have been devoting my free time to teaching for free.
Now, I am trying to turn my small property into
a site for education for my fellows; villager children, my undergraduate and master degree pupils and hopefully for the villagers.
a site for education for my fellows; villager children, my undergraduate and master degree pupils and hopefully for the villagers.
To fulfill my dreams and hopes, some friends of mine, recent pupils and native speakers of English are welcomed to meet and the children. Sometimes, some parents and villagers are invited to talk and discuss for what we can do more.
I am always ready to work with those who are sharing the same ideas.. At least, working together makes us become friends and we can learn from one another.meteekns79@gmail.com.

ReplyDeleteMy teaching experience at Bann Lao-Suer -Gok in December 28,2008, it was a good experience for me. I found the different between the young students and adult students. The students tried to participate with teacher. The situation between teacher and students was not in a formal way thus the class was fun and students were enjoyed when they learned. Let’s to do a good thing for them.

I like this project, it was great. I think I may help the students at Ban Lau Suer Gok to learn English. Although, we've never seen each other before but they make me feel good when I taught them. They're very good students and I think I may meet them again in this semester.

Every time when I thinking of the students Ban Lau Seau Kok. I feel happy and I still remember them always and then I don't know why? Furthermore, warm welcome from A.j Metee family and wonderful place; to quiet feel freedom. Especially, when I saw the sculptures Dad and Mom of A.j Metee make me so sad because I thinking of my Dad he passed away from me five years ago and I build element of my Dad in the garden where the place I live now.
I know the students' background from A.j Metee after that I starting to plan the project. I choose the topic about the animals and my hometown has Tiger Zoo. I think someone ever been to the zoo and then they familiar with the animals and know the words and meanings name of animals in Thai. I teach them easy to understand when I ask them they can answers my questions. Moreover they enjoy with my song 'Chang' version in English and they can compare with Thai Language how to differ words and meanings between Thai and English. I miss children I want to be there again if possible.
See you next time.

ReplyDeleteYes, I still remember this song-'Chang'. On that day, I have to say 'thank you very much' to Ajarn Sriudorn for sharing the 'Elephant song' to me. Once when I was in the LITU's TEFL welcoming trip, I used it and people at Thammasat liked this song a lot.

Before going to Ban Lao Suer Gok, I can't image what this project is and how it goes. I just feel Dr. Metee---our TEFL teacher is a kind man. Normally, we may only think we should do something useful to help others, but no real practice. Dr. Metee not only carefully plans to teach the kids but also starts to conduct it. And it works, benefiting for the kids, the parents, and the villagers. I think it's a great project!
When I was there, I felt the kids were very lovely and eager to study. Also it’s very good that their parents support their studying.
I don’t know the whole process of the project, but I hope it is systematic. So the kids can study step by step.
Best wishes for everyone!
